Broker Pre-Licensing Classes

Information on broker pre-license home study courses offered through the Illinois Association of Realtors® can be found on the Pre-license Page. You can take the broker pre-license classes in any order, and you can mix classroom and home study courses to suit your schedule. You can also take any or all of the classes for personal enrichment, even if you don't intend to apply for a broker's license.

An individual seeking their first real estate license is required to complete a total of 90 hours of broker pre license education.

A Pre-license Broker Home Study Course for the first 45 hours of the new 90 Hour Broker Course is now available for purchase through the REALTOR Store at IAR's website.  This course is available for students who want to take the course in a blended format completing 45 hours home study and 45 hours in a classroom environment.  The course will require a proctored exam and the student will be required to sign up with one of our pre-license branch locations to complete the additional 45 hours of coursework.  The course is available for purchase at $235.

Instructors who design their course to follow this program will be required to follow the MREP outline provided to IAR instructors.
