Governmental Affairs
NSBAR Opposition to Local Real Estate Transfer Tax
The City of Lake Forest will be seeking another referendum on March 21, 2006 to impose a local real estate transfer tax of $4 per $1,000 on the buyer. Although the residents of Lake Forest previously defeated this proposal, the City has decided to bring this issue before the voters once again and we URGE you to VOTE “NO” on this proposal.

Education Update
Attention Brokers! Time is quickly running out to complete your CE requirements and to renew your license! NSBAR has added some great new elective courses on Radon and Construction Law in March. Plus - double check to see that the date your class was supposed to be hasn't changed as we had to switch a few items around. NSBAR has some great designation courses lined up, including CIPS and we just added another CRS in March!. Register TODAY for your classes to renew your brokers license. And salespersons, don't forget that you don't have to wait to take your CE either. Check out our list of classes.

Upcoming NSBAR Events

Focus Groups NSBAR is looking for 100 volunteers to participate in one of six focus groups - the purpose of which is to help outline the needs and wants of members in order to determine new programs, seminars and services. For more info, contact Chris Huizenga at 847-480-7177.

Broker Orientation If you are considering becoming a broker and opening your own office, then this is the seminar for you! Click on the link above to learn more. The next seminar will be held at NSBAR Northbrook on May 25

Listing Strategies This 2-day CRS course is a requirement to obtain your CRS designation. Learn new strategies aimed at helping you get more listings. March 23-24 at NSBAR Northbrook.

Certified International Property Specialist This course has been postponed until July 20 and 21. Please check back soon and keep an eye out for a scheduling update for CIPS.
