MLS Participation Waiver Procedure
A user can request from his or her Association a waiver by MRED of the requirement of MLS participation (MLS Participation Waiver) due to:
- Significant medical illness (a copy of the doctor’s note is required); or
- Military deployment (a copy of the deployment papers is required)
After the waiver has been signed and dated by both the Agent AND Broker and all required documents attached, it is to be returned to the Association for approval. If the Association approves the waiver, it will be signed and dated and delivered to the attention of the Association’s SUM Team Representative by any reasonable delivery method (U.S. Postal Service, email, fax, etc.) along with all required documentation.
Once the waiver and requested documentation are received by the SUM Team Representative, it should be given to the Director of Services who will approve requests and indicate same by initialing and dating in the corner of the document.
The SUM Team Representative should then create a PDF of the waiver and all attached documents; attach the PDF to the users Rapattoni record and email it to the appropriate Association, the Broker and the Agent for their records. The email to the Associations should instruct them to notify MRED when they deactivate the user. After the SUM Team Representative receives notification of the deactivation, the PDF and the originals should be given to MRED’s Project Specialist for record keeping purposes.
The SUM Team Representative should also create a record in the HEAT call logging system stating the user has a MLS Participation Waiver and will not have MLS access.
