Compass/ RExplorer Password Change Guidelines

Password Rules

-Time : After the initial association kick-off dates listed above your password will need to be changed every 30 days.

-Length: Your new password must be at least 6 characters long

-Type: Your new password must use lettersand numbersonly. No special characters are allowed.

-6 Cycle Change: You cannot use the same password twice in the last 6 password changes

-Uniqueness: The new password cannot have more than 3 characters in sequence the same as the previous password. For example, the system will not allow a change from BOBZ09 to BOBZ10.

Notification

-Grace Period: Beginning 4 days prior to the actual day the password expires, the user will be asked to change their password at login. The system will allow the user to skip this procedure during this “grace period”.

-Expiration: after the 30 th day the user will be asked to change the password at login and there will be no option to skip it.

Obtaining your Password

-Web Link: Use the web link located at www.mlsni.net to have your Compass/Rexplorer password emailed to you. This only works if you have a valid email address in Compass. If you don’t call your association to have that corrected

-Realtor Association: Since MLSNI membership is handled by local associations, call your association to inquire about your current password

ConnectMLS

-Password Match: Your password change in Compass/Rexplorer will not affect your connectMLS password. The connectMLS password can be different and must be changed separately.

NOTE: This does not affect subscribers who have never logged into connectMLS. For these users the password in connectMLS will match the current Compass/Rexplorer password until they login to connectMLS the first time.

New Login Security

-Disablement: if after 3 attempts you fail to enter the correct password the login will be disabled for 2 minutes for that agent ID
